I am Brenda Daun, primary author of this blog. I love good books, baked goods, Diet Coke, reading, writing, and avoiding the great outdoors. I grew up in Southern California in a little town called Imperial. I started attending UC Irvine in the fall of 2007 as a Psychology major. I realized the error of my ways two years later, and switched my major to English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. I graduated from UCI in 2011, and this was my sad attempt at a jumping picture.
Tyson is from Irvine, CA. He loves photography, roller coasters, trains, airplanes, and enjoying the great outdoors. His uniform mostly consists of plaid shorts and cat shirts. We met in a mission preparation class in the spring of 2010 shortly after he’d returned from his mission to Guatemala.
I’d like to say that we were the Ross and Rachel of our singles ward, but it was probably only that dramatic to us. After months of being friends, we officially started dating in January of 2011. Tyson proposed six months later, and he still jokes it took me way too long to say yes. We were married on March 10th, 2012 in the Newport Beach temple.
In June 2012, we packed up most of our belongings into our little white Corolla (Coco) and moved to Logan, Utah for Tyson to finish his Bachelor’s degree in Aviation. I am currently dreaming about going back to school and working full-time as a Project Manager at a Utility Billing Company. Tyson is currently going to school full-time and working part-time at the IT service desk on campus. He will have his own jumping graduation picture soon. Hopefully he’ll be able to get more air than I was.
We love road trips, finding new places to eat, binge watching shows on Netflix, and visiting new temples. Most of all, we love being together. We are living our adventure, and this is it.
